BACKGROUND:
White Zinfandel has had a bad reputation in California for decades. And rightly so. However, this is not your grandparents mass-market, sweet and cloying White Zin of the past - this is something completely different. From the fantastic old vine Stampede vineyard, that has produced many award-winning Zins, comes this fruity and elegant dry rosé.
STYLE:
A dry but very lightly-colored rosé wine, full of fruit vigor in that elegant way that only old vines who have “found themselves” can express, yet with all the brambly, fruity complexities that only Zinfandel can bring.
Not cold stabilized, so expect some slight crystals in bottom when chilled hard.
VINEYARD:
Stampede is an own-rooted vineyard planted in the 1930’s in sandy soils and is impeccably farmed by Jeff and John Perlegos, with long family roots in this region. They are committed and passionate about the preservation of these old vines.
