2022 St. Amant Mohr-Fry Ranch Zinfandel
As harvest approached in 1996 they found themselves with a vineyard dead from phylloxera, in the middle of a protracted lawsuit with their landlord leaving us with no place to produce wine and no source for the obscure Iberian varieties we had farmed for the past 15 years. And then they met Jerry Fry. Jerry gave them 7 tons of beautiful old-vine Zinfandel, and asked only that they show the true potential of Lodi Zinfandel. That first wine won lots of awards, saved the winery, and forged a partnership that remains an essential part of our winery 30 years later. Today Mohr-Fry Zinfandel is their most popular wine and has been recognized around the world as a shining example of why Lodi is so special.
