2021 Perlegos Red Wine
A wine inspired by the legendary Chateau Musar of Lebanon, the Red Wine is a blend of Merlot, Cinsaut, and Carignane fermented using native yeasts, half of which were whole-cluster. The family farms the Merlot, which is located in the Clements Hills AVA of Lodi, adjacent to their Stampede Vineyard. The Cinsaut is sourced a half mile away at the Sprague Family vineyard, and the Carignane is grown on the west side of Lodi in the 1920s Mule Plane Vineyard. The grapes were minimally handled until bottling after 11 months in neutral barrels.
