MEET OUR PEOPLE

Farrah Felten-Jolley

Klinker Brick Winery / VP of Marketing & Sales

HOW MANY YEARS HAS YOUR FAMILY BEEN FARMING WINEGRAPES?
My family has been farming winegrapes since 1890. I’m the 6th generation.

HOW MANY ACRES DOES YOUR FAMILY FARM AND WHICH VARIETIES DO YOU GROW?
We farm 250 acres which includes Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Carginane, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Albariño, Grenache Blanc, and Dolcetto.

WHAT IS YOUR FIRST MEMORY OF WINE AND HOW DID YOU KNOW YOU WANTED TO GET IN TO THE INDUSTRY?
My first memory of wine is my grandfather adding a few drops of wine to water in a brandy glass so I could have “wine” with the grownups when I was four years old. My parents founded Klinker Brick Winery in 2000; I was a freshman in high school. That was the turning point for me – it’s when I decided I wanted to be a part of the family business.

WHAT CHORE DO YOU ABSOLUTELY HATE DOING?
Laundry.

WHAT IS ONE ASPECT OF YOUR CAREER WHICH MIGHT SURPRISE PEOPLE?
The amount of travel I take part in on behalf of the winery. Before 2020, I was traveling 3 weeks out of every month throughout the United States and internationally.

DO YOU HAVE ANY IRRATIONAL FEARS OR SUPERSTITIONS AS THEY RELATE TO YOUR JOB?
The night before I travel, I wake up in a panic thinking I forgot to book my flight or hotel.
