Fans of Lodi wines in Southern California will have an opportunity to taste some of their favorites at the WineLA Presents LODI in Los Angeles event on February 21, 2018 at the Marina City Club in Marina Del Rey.

About 20 Lodi wineries are set to participate and show off the quality and diversity of the Lodi appellation, which in 2015 was named Wine Region of the Year by Wine Enthusiast Magazine.

Among the elite list of wineries showcasing their most popular pours are Viaggio, Scotto’s Wine & Cider, Van Ruiten, Heritage Oak, m2, PRIE, Riaza, Ironstone, Klinker Brick, LangeTwins, Bokisch, Uvaggio, Michael David, Oak Farm, Oak Ridge, Paskett, St. Amant, and more.

Lodi has produced wine for more than 150 years with much of its production sourcing large producers. But in recent years, the area has welcomed an influx of small, boutique, artisan operations focused on creating outstanding premium wines at approachable price points. Now, Lodi is a destination for wine lovers everywhere.

If nothing else, Lodi is not boring! About 100 wine grape varieties thrive in Lodi's Mediterranean climate and fertile soils, and about 70 wine grape varieties are in commercial production. Lodi is a statewide leader in the production of traditional varieties, such as Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. But in Lodi, you'll also find Spanish varieties, like Albarino and Tempranillo; Italian varieties, such as Barbera and Vermentino; and Rhone varieties, including Viognier and Grenache. In addition, Lodi produces close to 40 percent of California's premium red Zinfandel, and has some of the oldest plantings of head-trained Zinfandel in the state. These old vines produce wines that are deep, complex and absolutely delicious.

Tending more than 110,000 acres under vine are many multi-generation farming families, whose forward-thinking commitment to the future prosperity of the Lodi wine region and beyond spawned California's first third-party certified sustainable winegrowing program, LODI RULES.

WineLA Presents LODI in Los Angeles will begin at 6 p.m. with a VIP hour including a dinner buffet and older-vintage wines. VIP ticket prices are $95 in advance and $125 at the door. Regular admission begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $59 in advance and $79 at the door, but a sell-out is anticipated. The event includes a chance to meet with all the producers, heavy appetizers, music, unlimited wine tasting, and a wonderful audience! Come alone or come with your tasting group. WineLA welcomes wine fans of all wine experience levels.
