The WINE in 2 WATER benefit concert at Jessie’s Grove (June 2)

June 2, 2012:  The WINE in 2 WATER Benefit Concert & Wine Tasting at Jessie’s Grove Winery

Dancing Fox winegrower/proprietor and restaurateur Gregg Lewis has combined efforts with a counterpart, Greg Burns of the historic Jessie’s Grove Winery, and numerous volunteers throughout the Lodi community, to present WINE in 2 WATER:  a concert, wine tasting, art and wine auction benefitting the Bear Creek Water Project and Living Water International.

The Bear Creek Water Project is a foundation endeavoring to save the lives of children (one dies every 15 seconds from preventable, water-related diseases) through raising money by recycling plastic bottles and aluminum cans to cover the cost of digging wells in third world countries.  Living Water International exists to demonstrate the love of God by helping communities acquire desperately needed clean water.

Giving a shout-out to fellow Lodi vintners and Lodi wine lovers everywhere, Lewis says, “this is a great opportunity for all of us to lead Lodi into a national and perhaps global spotlight… this time, it’s not about how good our wines are… but in the area of generosity.”

Imagine life without clean water:  many children around the world simply have no access to that.  UNICEF and the World Health Organization estimate that over 5,000 children die each day from AIDS/HIV, Malaria, TB and cancer –  diseases that could be prevented if only there was access to wells providing safe, clean water.

Bear Creek Water has already drilled 32 wells all over the world, the first being in Namibia in Southern Africa.  It is Mr. Lewis’s and Mr. Burns’ hope that WINE in 2 WATER will not only raise more money towards these efforts, but also serve to remind us all that even the smallest gift has the potential for saving lives and easing human suffering near and far.

The WINE in 2 WATER committee is calling upon the San Joaquin County community and wine enthusiasts everywhere to show their support by attending this live music concert on the grounds of Jessie’s Grove Winery, headlined by Molly’s Revenge (dynamic acoustic Celtic music) and The North Star Session (rocking, jamming neo-country).  Admission is $40 pre-sale and $50 at the door:  visit WINE IN 2 WATER’s Buy Tickets page.

All proceeds will go directly to clean water projects.  Admission will also include a free wine tasting of many of Lodi’s finest wines with a WINE IN 2 WATER commemorative etched wine glass, participation in a wine auction, and access to wines and foods generously donated by these Lodi wineries and restaurants:

Gates to Jessie’s Grove Winery will open at 4:30 PM on Saturday, June 2, 2012.  The winery is located at 1973 W. Turner Rd., in the heart of Lodi’s oldest, most revered old vineyards.  Kudos to Mr. Lewis, Mr. Burns, and all the Lodi businesses involved with WINE IN 2 WATER for leading the way in this life saving cause, and thank you ahead of time for your generous support!
