Let us count the reasons why we love Lodi's Wine & Chocolate Weekend

Counting the reasons why we love Lodi's Wine & Chocolate Weekend

It’s ba-a-a-ack... Lodi wine country’s most popular yearly event! Lodi’s Wine & Chocolate Weekend takes place on the Saturday/Sunday of February 9 & 10, 2019, from 11 AM to 4 PM on both days.

Why is this weekend so well loved? Let us count the ways.

• A chance to drop in on no less than 54 participating wineries (well, at least as many as you humanly can) and
• Enjoy exclusive tastings (from the barrel, verticals of vintages, etc.),
• Lots of edible treats (chocolates and non-chocolaty),
• Live music (at many wineries, including room to dance with your fellow wine and chocolate lovers), and
• Lots of Instagram-worthy moments and settings (including photo booths and backdrops) nearly everywhere you go!

Imagine the possibilities, if not with your main squeeze, maybe with your besties (or all of them!).

Wine & Chocolate lovers and besties at Downtown Lodi's Cellar Door wine bar

Lodi is the place to do this because... it’s Lodi! It’s not for nothing that Lodi is a recent Wine Enthusiast Magazine “Wine Region of the Year” winner (chosen out of all the other wine regions around the world). Or that Lodi rated #2 (we’ll take it!) in USA Today’s 2018 Readers’ Choice for “Best Wine Region.” Last May, San Francisco Chronicle lauded wines made from Lodi grown fruit because they “encompass a full rainbow, from fresh, bright, high-acid white wines to earthy, light bodied reds.”

Recently, even the Napa Valley Register reported that “The world is watching,” and “a new breed of winemakers and grape-growers have lifted Lodi wines to a whole new level... unlike other regions that may be limited to a handful of viable different grape varieties, Lodi grows a plethora of different wine grapes – more than 100 – which has allowed vintners to explore, tinker and find unique niches for their brands.”

So if you have yet to experience Lodi’s “rainbow,” “plethora,” and “unique niches,” Wine & Chocolate Weekend may be the perfect opportunity to dive in and find out why for yourself.

So here is the scoop: Tickets are $65 in advance, or $75 at the door (at any of the participating wineries listed below) on days of event. Wine club members of participating wineries can obtain a ticket at the discounted rate of $55 (advance purchase only) by contacting the winery of which they are members. No charge for designated drivers (highly recommended), who must be at least 21 years of age.

You can also purchase tickets online at lodiwineandchocolate.com, or in-person at the Lodi Wine & Visitor Center. Each ticket comes with an official Lodi Wiine & Chocolate stemless wine glass, which you will use at each winery to do your tastings.

Please note, not all wineries will be able to accommodate buses or groups of over 15 people. Please check our list below ahead of time.

That said, here is the list of all 54 participating wineries, and the lowdown on what each has in store for their weekend’s wine and chocolate lovin' visitors...
