Founded in 1978 by long-time vintner David Lucas, The Lucas Winery is devoted to creating elegant Chardonnay and vineyard-designated Zinfandels that demonstrate the Lodi appellation’s greatest potential. David Lucas and his wife, Heather Pyle-Lucas handcraft our wines. Both have accomplished histories; David as former vineyard manager for Robert Mondavi Winery and Heather as winemaker for Mondavi and Opus. Our flagship wine, ZinStar Zinfandel, represents our winemaking philosophy; that great wines are made in the vineyard, and in our case, from our old vine, organically farmed property.
Visitors to our historic barn tasting room, refurbished in 2000, will experience a hands-on glimpse into fun and informational vineyard happenings, wines, and our distinctive Grand Chai. The Lucas Winery is proud to feature an interactive wine club where our friends and customers have access to our limited release wines. We also host several events a year, from Great Chefs of San Joaquin County to our very own Chardonnay and ZinStar Zinfandel Retrospectives. We welcome guests and visitors Valentine’s Day until Christmas.
