At m2, it’s all about the wine. Since 2004 our focus and purpose has been creating dynamic artisan wines from distinctive vineyards in Lodi, the Sierra Foothills, and Napa Valley.
Our winery at isn’t particularly fancy. We’re in a warehouse; we don’t have a great view, nice landscaping, picnic tables, sculptures or bocce ball courts. Our focus is on the wine and our resources go toward making the best wines we can – that means exceptional grapes, real oak barrels, careful craftsmanship and an obsession for creating delicious wines.
When you visit m2 you’re likely to meet Layne Montgomery, winemaker and one of the original “M’s”, or Mark Sanford, assistant winemaker, or his wife Jan who is also our Cellar Dwellers Wine Club manager. Ted Woodruff or his brother Terry (maybe even nephew Brian) might be pouring in the tasting room. In fact, almost everyone who will greet you and offer you samples of our wines is either a partner in the winery, or a wine club member. Quite often too, barrel samples of upcoming releases are available for tasting.
