Culinary Arts meets Lodi Winemakers
If it’s perfectly paired wine and food you crave, then Lodi is the place to be then look no further than Lodi Wine Country! With events like Wine & Chocolate, the ZinFest Wine Festival and the Treasure Island WineFest, we thought we had food and wine covered. It wasn’t until our recent event, ‘Pairing Perfection – Culinary Arts meets Lodi Winemakers,’ that we truly began to appreciate the epicurean delight of perfectly paired food and wine.
On Saturday, March 13th, twenty two Lodi Appellation Wineries joined forces with culinary students from the Art Institute of California, Sacramento to create customized culinary hors d’oeuvres paired with a specific wine selection. The result was what you might call… gastronomic bliss!
Five food and wine experts and aficionado’s composed the professional judges panel while over 200 guests had the chance to vote for the “People’s Choice” award. While the competition was fierce, we narrowed it down to our top four:
Chef Kathy Kalmykow
